Dashboard Playbooks

Interactive HTML dashboards that render live in the Dashboards panel, refresh in place as your data changes, and export to PDF, PNG, or HTML. Use these when you want something to hover and explore — not a static slide or document.

1. Executive KPI Dashboard

  • Good for: board and leadership readouts
  • Best setup: hand over the metrics (revenue, churn, NPS, runway) or point at prior research
  • Example prompt:
Executive dashboard
Build an interactive executive dashboard of our Q2 numbers — revenue, active users, churn, CAC payback — with a trend chart and a short 'so what' for each. Use the executive_summary template.

2. Operating Metrics Wall

  • Good for: weekly ops reviews
  • Best setup: the live metrics you track, with last few periods for sparklines
  • Example prompt:
Metrics wall
Make a KPI dashboard of our operating metrics with deltas and sparklines, plus a revenue-by-segment bar chart. Let me export it as a PDF when it's ready.

3. Interactive Research Readout

  • Good for: deep dives you want to share
  • Best setup: do the research first, then turn it into a dashboard
  • Example prompt:
Research dashboard
Turn the market research we just did into a live dashboard with a contents sidebar, the key charts, and a data table. Refresh the same dashboard when I paste updated figures.

4. Head-To-Head Comparison

  • Good for: vendor, option, or scenario decisions
  • Best setup: the options and the criteria that matter
  • Example prompt:
Comparison dashboard
Compare these two vendors as an interactive dashboard — attributes side by side, a weighted-score bar chart, and a clear recommendation at the bottom.

5. Roadmap / Launch Readout

  • Good for: stakeholder updates on a plan
  • Best setup: milestones with status
  • Example prompt:
Roadmap dashboard
Build a timeline dashboard of our launch plan with milestone status and an overall progress bar, then export it to PNG for the update email.

Keep A Dashboard Live (repeating / lagging data)

A dashboard is a snapshot the moment it's built. To make one that tracks data that keeps changing — a PSX ticker, a metric that updates daily, a figure you compute in code — turn on auto-refresh and pick a cadence:

  • Twice a day — a steady background refresh.
  • Specific time — one refresh at a time you choose.
  • Real-time — live updates while you have the dashboard open; it stops when you close the panel and falls back to the twice-a-day schedule.
Living dashboard
Build a dashboard of these PSX tickers and keep it live: pull the latest prices and update the same dashboard in place. Real-time while I'm watching, twice a day otherwise.

Under the hood Alfrada builds the dashboard once, then a small background worker re-pulls the data (PSX, code execution, financials, etc.) and edits the same dashboard in place each run — no new conversation, no remade canvas. You can change the cadence or hit Refresh anytime from the Dashboards panel. Auto-refresh can read and compute, but never sends email or messages.

Tips

  • The dashboard is a single self-contained web page — charts are interactive (hover for detail) and it follows your app theme: switch Alfrada to dark mode and the dashboard (and its PDF/PNG export) render dark too.
  • Ask Alfrada to refresh the dashboard when your data changes; it updates the same one in place rather than making a new file.
  • Export PDF, PNG, or HTML from the buttons in the Dashboards panel. PDFs paginate cleanly — cards and charts won't be split across a page break.
  • For PowerPoint decks ask for a presentation instead; for a static written PDF/DOCX ask for a report.
