Image Lab + Code Execution Free On Community

If you're on the free tier, you've now got Image Lab and Code Execution out of the box. No upgrade needed. And the annoying "this tool is inactive, upgrade to continue" popups that used to interrupt mid-chat are gone — the agent simply doesn't see premium tools on plans that can't run them.

What's unlocked on Community

• Image Lab — generate and edit images, run them through the media pipeline.
• Code Executor — run Python for data analysis, charts, calculations.
• All the free-band tools you already had — search, finance, browser, Excel ops, history, presentations, your connected Gmail and Calendar.

What's still paid

Speech, Music Lab, Video Lab, Video Editor, the agentic browser, and the paid scrapers (Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn) stay on Pro and above. Those genuinely cost us per call — the pricing reflects the underlying API costs.

When you'd notice it

• You sign up for Community and ask "make me a chart of US inflation over the last 10 years." Code Executor runs, you get a real answer. No upsell wall.
• You ask "generate a cover image for my blog post about startup fundraising." Image Lab runs.
• You ask for Twitter posts. The agent knows Twitter Search isn't in its toolkit on Community and tells you what it can do (Google, YouTube, Tavily) instead of trying to call it and getting interrupted.

Heads up

Pro and above sees no change — every tool was already available. The "tools the agent can't see" fix only matters on the free tier.
