Tool Pricing Simplified Into Five Bands

April 17, 2026

Every tool now charges a flat, predictable rate per call in one of five bands. No more per-result billing, no more bespoke per-tool numbers — look at a tool, see its band, know what it'll cost before you run it.

The five bands

BandTokens per callWhat's in it
Free0Search (Google, Scholar, Maps, Flights, YouTube, Patents, Airbnb, Tavily), Browser, Excel ops, finance tools, history search, markdown editor, todo, plan manager, scheduler, presentation, mermaid, agent intuition, Gmail and Calendar via your connected accounts
Scraper250,000Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Twitter/X, LinkedIn Profile, LinkedIn Jobs, Code Executor, Video Editor
Media500,000Image Lab, Speech
Video1,000,000Video Lab
Studio2,000,000Music Lab

Each tool card in Settings → Tools shows its band, so you can scan the toolbox and know what each call costs.

What changed

  • Per-result billing is gone. Twitter Search and LinkedIn Profile used to charge by result count, which made any scraper session unpredictable. They're now flat 250k like everything else in the scraper band.
  • Reddit Search and Reader dropped from 750k to 250k.
  • Video Editor dropped from 1M to 250k. Most editor operations are cheap FFmpeg calls, not model runs — the price now reflects that.
  • Image Lab moved up slightly (450k → 500k) to match Speech in the Media band.
  • Video Lab and Music Lab are unchanged.

When you'd notice it

  • You ask for a research sweep across Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Google. That used to swing between 500k and 3M depending on how much each scraper returned. Now each scraper call is exactly 250k — predictable, and the Google calls are free.
  • You're on Community (10M monthly) and weighing a long research session. Five scraper calls = 1.25M, about 12% of your budget. No surprises at the end.
  • A creative session — generate an image, narrate it, edit the clip — adds up to Image Lab (500k) + Speech (500k) + Video Editor (250k) = 1.25M. You can budget the whole thing from the catalog.

Try it

  • Open Settings → Tools and scan the band badges.
  • "Budget me a research session covering Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit and Google for [topic]. How many tokens?" — the agent can tell you before running.

Heads up

Connected providers (Gmail, Calendar, GitHub, Slack, and the rest) are free — they run over your own OAuth so there's no per-call cost to pass on. Use them as much as you want.
