Memory & Playbooks, Now Focused Tools — Saves That Just Work
June 28, 2026
Alfrada's long-term memory used to run through a single multi-purpose tool that bundled memory and playbooks behind one action field. We've split it into focused tools — memory_search, memory_create, memory_update, memory_delete, and a dedicated playbook tool — so each operation has a clear, validated shape. The practical win: saving and recalling memory is now far more reliable across every model, including ones that previously fumbled the combined tool and retried in a loop.
What you can do
- Search or list memory with
memory_search— give it a phrase to search, or leave the query empty to list your most recent entries (optionally filtered by namespace). - Save a memory with
memory_create— it now requires the namespace (user_rule,life_story, orworld_info) and the text together, so a save either lands completely or tells you exactly what's missing. No more half-saved entries. - Edit or prune with
memory_updateandmemory_delete— correct a stored fact or remove a stale one by its id. - Manage playbooks with the
playbooktool —read, list, create, update, anddeleteyour reusable domain guides.
Where this shows up
- You say "remember that I prefer GBP for all financial outputs." Alfrada saves it on the first try instead of stumbling over a combined memory call.
- You ask Alfrada to tidy up what it knows about you. It searches, de-dupes, updates the survivor, and deletes the rest — cleanly.
- You start a task in a familiar domain. Alfrada reads the matching playbook first, then works to your established preferences.
Try it
- "What do you already know about me?"
- "Remember that I always want financial figures in GBP."
- "Clean up my memory — merge duplicates and drop anything stale."
- "Save this workflow as a playbook I can reuse."
Heads up
- Same feature, cleaner plumbing. This is still "Agent Intuition" — nothing changes in how you use it. Your existing memories and playbooks carry over, and default playbooks auto-update to reference the new tool names.
- No extra cost. All five tools are free (no token cost), exactly as before.
