Argus Owner Gets Ludicrous Mode, Group Members Get The Builder Bundle
May 12, 2026
Argus now opens up with every tool active for you by default, and group members in a thread Argus is in can do real work — research, analysis, and artifact generation — without ever touching your private data or acting as you.
What you can do
- As the owner, every active tool in Alfrada's catalog is auto-merged into your Argus session — no more "select a tool first" before asking. You can say "make me a PDF of that", "drop the numbers in Excel", "build a deck", "generate a chart", "run this CSV through a regression", "find papers on X" — Argus has the right tool already attached.
- Group members in a chat where Argus is whitelisted can now ask for research and artifact generation in-thread: PDFs and DOCX reports, Excel workbooks, PowerPoint decks, mermaid diagrams, markdown drafts, charts and analysis via the Python sandbox, image generation, stock photos, music, video, even a medical-vision second opinion on an image they upload.
- Group members can also use the full research toolkit —
google_search,tavily_search,scholar_search,google_patent,context7_docs,youtube, public social search (twitter_search,reddit_reader,tiktok_search,instagram_search), public LinkedIn lookups, Google Maps/Flights, Airbnb, Google Shopping, plus read-only finance data (analyst_views,company_financials,stocks_analyser,psx_market). - Group members still cannot read your memory, calendar, email, contacts, scheduled tasks, or any other session — and they cannot send WhatsApp messages, post to social, schedule work, or burn any of your connected Composio accounts. The Argus tool lockdown is enforced at the infrastructure level: those tools never even reach the model for a non-owner sender.
Where this shows up
You want a deck for a board meeting and you're on the train. You text Argus on WhatsApp: "Build me a 12-slide deck on Q2 progress using the numbers from last week's report." It runs in ludicrous mode — report_generator, excel_ops, presentation, code_executor are all already loaded — and the PPTX lands back in the same chat.
Your co-founder is in a group thread with Argus and asks: "Argus, can you find the top 5 academic papers on retrieval-augmented generation from 2025 and put them in a Word doc?" Argus has scholar_search and report_generator available now — it researches, writes, exports. It never sees your inbox or your memories.
A client in a shared group asks Argus to mock up a logo concept. Argus uses image_lab, drops the PNG in the thread, and is done — without touching anything of yours.
Try it
- "Argus, build me a 1-page PDF summary of the Sora 3.0 launch with citations"
- "@Argus run a quick correlation on the columns in this CSV and screenshot the chart"
- "Argus, find 3 stock photos of a coastal village in Portugal and put them in a slide deck"
- "@Argus do a competitor analysis on Anthropic vs OpenAI Q1 financials in a spreadsheet"
Heads up
- The owner expansion is automatic — old sessions get their
selected_toolsre-aligned on the next inbound message via the existing_ensure_whatsapp_session_alignedpath, so nothing to do. - Group/external behaviour is still whitelist-gated at the account ACL level: a stranger who isn't in your allowlist still cannot reach Argus at all. The bigger toolset only kicks in once they've cleared the ACL and the mention-only addressing gate.
- Composio MCP tools (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Slack, etc.),
whatsapp_send,task_scheduler,agent_intuition,history_searcher,agent_smith,agentic_browser,settings_tool, andbillingremain locked for non-owner senders no matter what — this expansion does not soften that boundary.
